In the beginning of the twentieth century, Dr. Maria Montessori, a young Italian doctor, developed a new educational method.  This new approach emphasized learning through all five senses, not just through listening, watching, or reading.  She believed that each child is born with a unique talents, along with an innate desire to learn and to experience the world.   The Montessori teaching method is founded on her conviction that “ the hand is the instrument of the mind.”  Students in a Montessori classroom in Cinco Ranch learn by doing, engaging in multi-sensory exploration, deepening the learning experience.  Learning is an exciting process of discovery, leading to concentration, motivation, and self-discipline.  The Montessori method has withstood the test of time.  Over the last 100 years, it has provided students with superior levels of education compared to traditional teaching models.
